Cozy UK Staycation. Is that possible if you don't live in the UK?

Winter sun. You spend most of winter wishing it was over so you can get back into your flip flops and sit in a beer garden. What you need is some winter sun. Just imagine how jealous everyone will be of your tan when you saunter back into the office after 10 days in South Africa, the Canary Islands or Thailand, where you'll find balmy temperatures in December and January.

It would be difficult to reach the UK by train or car...my preferred mode of travel.

Snowy European city break. That's what I would love. I've been to London, Munich, Kiev, Odessa, St. Petersburg, Novgorod, Vienna and others always in the winter. Love it when there are very few tourists around.
